Project Overview: We are seeking an experienced Freelance Tech Leader to guide the development of a cutting-edge self-driving car. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive technology, AI, and autonomous systems. The Tech Leader will oversee the technical aspects of the project, from conceptualization through to deployment, ensuring the successful integration of advanced technologies to achieve a fully functional self-driving vehicle. Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership and Strategy: Develop and execute the technical strategy for the self-driving car project, aligning with overall project goals and objectives. Lead the technical team in the design and implementation of autonomous driving systems, including perception, control, and decision-making algorithms. Define and oversee technical standards, best practices, and methodologies for the development of autonomous vehicle technologies. Project Management and Coordination: Manage the technical aspects of the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, testing, and deployment. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, data scientists, and automotive experts, to ensure seamless integration of technologies. Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. Technology Development and Integration: Oversee the development and integration of key technologies for self-driving capabilities, such as sensors (LIDAR, radar, cameras), machine learning models, and control systems. Ensure the successful integration of autonomous systems with vehicle hardware and software platforms. Stay up-to-date with advancements in autonomous driving technology and incorporate relevant innovations into the project. Testing and Validation: Develop and implement a comprehensive testing and validation plan to ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of the self-driving car. Oversee simulation and real-world testing activities, analyzing results and making necessary adjustments to improve system performance. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety requirements for autonomous vehicles. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including project sponsors, partners, and regulatory bodies, to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns. Prepare and present technical reports, presentations, and documentation to stakeholders and senior management. Risk Management and Problem Resolution: Identify and assess technical risks and challenges associated with the development of the self-driving car. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address potential issues and ensure project success. Provide technical guidance and support to resolve complex problems and ensure the smooth progression of the project. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Tech Leader or Technical Director, with a strong background in autonomous vehicle technology, AI, and automotive systems. Extensive knowledge of self-driving car technologies, including perception systems, machine learning algorithms, sensor integration, and control systems. Experience with automotive development processes, including hardware-software integration, testing, and validation. Strong leadership and project management skills, with a track record of successfully managing complex technical projects. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address technical challenges and provide innovative solutions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field is preferred.
