Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Systems Analyst to join our team and help bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in system analysis and design, and a deep understanding of business processes and IT systems. As a Systems Analyst, you will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze processes, and design effective solutions to improve business operations and support organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Requirement Gathering and Analysis:

    • Collaborate with stakeholders, including business users, project managers, and IT staff, to gather and document detailed business requirements.
    • Analyze business processes, workflows, and systems to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for automation.
    • Develop clear and concise requirements documentation, including business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and use cases.
  2. System Design and Development:

    • Design and propose IT solutions that meet business requirements and align with organizational goals.
    • Create system design specifications, including data models, process flows, and system architecture diagrams.
    • Work with development teams to ensure that solutions are implemented according to specifications and meet quality standards.
  3. Project Management and Coordination:

    • Coordinate with project managers and development teams to ensure timely delivery of projects and alignment with project goals.
    • Participate in project planning and status meetings, providing updates on requirements, design, and implementation progress.
    • Assist in the development of project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.
  4. Testing and Quality Assurance:

    • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts to ensure that systems meet functional and performance requirements.
    • Coordinate and participate in system testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
    • Identify and document issues or defects, and work with development teams to resolve them.
  5. Documentation and Training:

    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system design, processes, and user guides.
    • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure effective use of new systems and processes.
    • Provide ongoing support and documentation updates as needed.
  6. Support and Maintenance:

    • Provide support for system implementation and post-implementation activities, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
    • Monitor system performance and user feedback to identify and address potential enhancements or issues.
    • Work with IT support teams to ensure that systems are maintained and updated according to organizational policies.
  7. Continuous Improvement:

    • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in systems analysis and design.
    • Identify and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems analysis, business analysis, or a related role, with a strong understanding of business processes and IT systems.
  • Proficiency in requirement gathering and documentation techniques, including BRDs, use cases, and process modeling.
  • Experience with system design and analysis tools, such as flowcharting software, data modeling tools, and UML.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP systems, CRM platforms, or other enterprise software solutions.
  • Knowledge of database management and query languages (e.g., SQL).
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Certified Systems Analyst (CSA).
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with change management and user training.
