Job description

Foundry Mold and Coremakers create molds and cores used in metal casting processes. They work with various materials to form shapes that will hold molten metal, ensuring precise dimensions and surface finishes for the final cast products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mold and Core Creation: Construct molds and cores from materials such as sand, metal, or ceramic using patterns and specifications provided by engineers or designers.
  • Pattern Preparation: Prepare and coat patterns with release agents to facilitate easy removal from molds after casting.
  • Mold Assembly: Assemble and align mold sections and cores, ensuring proper fit and integrity before the metal is poured.
  • Quality Inspection: Inspect completed molds for defects, measuring dimensions to ensure they meet specifications and are free from flaws.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate machinery and tools, such as core machines and mold-making equipment, following safety and operational procedures.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of molds, tools, and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
