Job description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Air Conditioning (A/C) Technician to install, maintain, and repair air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with various types of A/C units, including residential, commercial, and industrial systems. The A/C Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all cooling systems operate efficiently and effectively, providing high-quality service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Installation and Setup:

    • Install and configure new air conditioning systems according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
    • Set up and connect A/C units, including refrigerant lines, electrical connections, and ductwork.
    • Test and calibrate newly installed systems to ensure proper operation and performance.
  2. Maintenance and Inspection:

    • Perform routine maintenance on A/C systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing filters.
    • Conduct inspections of air conditioning systems to identify potential issues and recommend preventive measures.
    • Check for and address any refrigerant leaks, electrical faults, or mechanical problems.
  3. Repair and Troubleshooting:

    • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with air conditioning systems, including malfunctioning components and system failures.
    • Repair or replace defective parts, such as compressors, thermostats, and fans, using appropriate tools and techniques.
    • Test repaired systems to ensure they function correctly and meet performance standards.
  4. Customer Service:

    • Communicate with clients to explain issues, provide recommendations, and offer solutions for A/C system problems.
    • Provide accurate estimates for repair and maintenance services, including parts and labor costs.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through professional and courteous service.
  5. Safety and Compliance:

    • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working with electrical systems, refrigerants, and other hazardous materials.
    • Ensure compliance with local building codes, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
    • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
  6. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Complete service reports and documentation for each job, including details of work performed and recommendations for future maintenance.
    • Track and report any issues or trends observed during service calls to management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an A/C Technician or similar role, with a strong understanding of air conditioning systems and components.
  • Certification in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) or relevant technical training is preferred.
  • Proficiency with tools and equipment used in A/C installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and environmental regulations related to refrigerants and electrical systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and explain technical information.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools (up to 50 lbs).
  • Capability to work in various environmental conditions, including high temperatures, confined spaces, and elevated areas.
  • Good manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform technical tasks and handle equipment.
